Isn't this bundle so fun and summery?!  I had a lot of fun sewing with these lemonade prints!

I decided to make a simple table topper out of the bundle and I love how it turned out! This is a BIG block - but it is super simple to put together!

The great thing about this project is that you can make the entire project with a FQ bundle and a little extra white background fabric!  The other awesome thing is that this can easily be made in an afternoon! I love quick projects!

Alright, let's get started!
Supplies:
1 Homemade Lemonade Bundle
1/4 yard of white

Cutting:

From white:
 8 - 2 7/8" squares cut in half diagonally (A)
4 - 2 1/2 x 4 1/2" rectangles (B)

From pink lemonade print:
4 - 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangles (B)
1 - 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" square (C)
3 - 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares cut twice diagonally (E)

From green:
4 - 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" squares (D)

From yellow:
6 - 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares cut twice diagonally (E)

From white lemonade print:
3 - 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" squares cut twice diagonally (E)
4 - 4 1/4" x 4 1/2" squares (F)

  • Start by sewing a pink b unit and white b unit together.  Press. Make 4.
  • Then make your square in a square units.  Start by sewing two A triangles to opposite sides of your D square.  Press.  Then sew the two remaining sides on and press.  Make 4.

  • Assemble hourglass units.  Sew a pink and yellow E triangle together and press.  Sew a white and yellow E triangle and press.  Then sew the two units together and press. Make 12.
  • Sew three hourglass blocks together and press. Make two sets.
  • Sew three hourglass blocks together and an F square on either side and press. Make two sets.

  • Sew your hourglass rows to the top and bottom and press. Then add your other two strips to the left and right side and press.
  • Add your pink border.  First measure the width of your block and cut a strip that measure Width x 2 1/2" and sew a strip to the top and bottom.
  • Measure the length and then cut a strip that measures the Length of block x 2 1/2"  - sew a strip to each side.  Press.

Now you are ready to baste, quilt and bind with your preferred method!  I pieced my backing with the leftover fat quarters and used the yellow print to bind.

I hope you enjoy making this fun summer project!

Talk to you soon,
